Dubai is widely recognised for great shopping. While many of the surrounding freehold developments at Downtown are not yet finished, there are many residents already there, and set to move in over the summer months, so the opening of Dubai Mall will be welcomed by district residents.
The main attraction at the Dubai Mall will be the access to the Burj Dubai viewing platform. While the Burj Dubai has been plagued by construction delays, due to the changing of plans to make the iconic skyscraper taller, once it is completed at the end of 2009, visitors will be able to go to the highest viewing platform on earth. Also an important part of the Mall’s design is The Grove, which will be a part of the mall where the roof is retractable, to reveal an open-air walk when the weather is suitable. With more than 120 food and beverage outlets, a 5 star hotel attached to the mall and 70 signature fashion outlets, the Dubai Mall is the perfect addition to what will be a vibrant Downtown community.
